may 2019 - gentleman Jack on bbc1
Gentleman Jack begins on BBC1 in May. It is created and written by Sally Wainwright and Daniel was hugely proud to be involved in the project. It follows Anne Lister, owner of Shibden Hall in Halifax who kept many diaries, much in code, that help illuminate Anne’s life as a prominent woman, lesbian and landowner in the early 1800s. Suranne Jones stars as Anne Lister (pictured with Sophie Rundle as Ann Walker). Daniel plays Dr Kenny, the family doctor.
Daniel has recorded several new audiobooks which are soon to be published. He continues to narrate Peter James’ series of Inspector Roy Grace novels, he reads a second installment of the Jaap Rykel detective series for Penguin and he has recorded his second CJ Sansom book, the unabridged version of Spanish Civil War drama, Winter in Madrid. All three are riveting!
Daniel has wrapped on filming of the pilot episode of exciting new American TV series Treadstone, a spin-off of the hugely popular Bourne films. The project has been created by Tim Kring (Heroes) and is directed by Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes).
The new series of Silent Witness hits British screens in early 2019 and will see Liz Carr reuniting with Daniel as they play on screen wife and husband, Clarissa and Max.
Max first appears this series in the second half of To Brighton, to Brighton which will air on BBC1 on 22nd January 2019.
Daniel reads excerpts from Chaucer’s Dream Vision poems in this enlightening documentary presented by Henry Eliot and produced by Jo Wheeler for BBC Radio 4.
